Hey, folks! Yes, I know…its been a while. There have been a lot of questions from you guys about the changes that have been happening over the past year at Jentegrity. Many of you locals know, but I haven’t spoken of it on here until now.
My mother, whom y’all knew as Mimsey, passed away in July. She made many of our bracelets and eyeglass holders, and loved sorting beads for me. Since she lived with us, I was blessed with the opportunity of caring for her and spending all my extra time with her as her strength slowly began to fail. One Sunday morning, she went peacefully in her lovely, sunny room, holding my hand and the hand of one of her caregivers, while my husband Matt sang her favorite song, It Is Well With My Soul. Halfway through the first chorus, she relaxed with the sweetest little smile, and I knew she was with our Savior.
Many of my local customers know that I had to close my little brick and mortar store in the fall of 2018 to take care of Mimsey when she went on hospice. I also cut back on many of my regular shows and events while caring for her. And after she passed, I basically dropped off the face of the earth for a while, but that’s how I deal with the major losses in my life.
Anyway…during this time, I started thinking about all the incredible artists I have met in person and online over the past few years. I was astounded to find that many of them have never marketed their work, and it’s a shame because let me tell you these people are TALENTED! Way more talented than some chick scratching on sea glass in Memphis. Besides, since I turned 50 last year, my sight has gotten so bad (relax, its only cataracts) that I have decided to put the sea glass engraving on hold for the time being.
With that being said, I have decided to focus on bringing these amazing artists directly to you via my FB page, hence the name change. I hope you love this beautifully diverse collection as much as I have enjoyed creating it. And I will be adding more and more Jentegrity items every day as well, so stay tuned! 😉
Blessings, y’all.
